WHY IS INDIAN GUITAR RADIO INTRODUCED ?

IGR IS REVIVAL OF OUR MUSIC – We are blessed with a very rich Indian Music Heritage but the most unfortunate part is that people, especially the younger generation, hardly know about the legendary works of our music composers (from the 1950s till 90s) and the history of our ancient ragas originated from Samaveda.

This is something that is getting lost with time. Even most guitarists today are only inclined to copy the west.

MOTIVATION BEHIND IGR ?

I receive too many requests, especially from Indian music lovers around the world, to keep on creating more and more of such content.

I truly appreciate their feelings but creating new content takes a lot of time in research and other opportunity costs. Especially when you know you are creating this Bollywood on guitar legacy as free for the music lovers.

To re-create the music (Bollywood, ragas, folk) for purpose of presenting “impact of guitar sounds on such tunes”
To research and produce ‘guitar arrangement’ on such tunes to showcase how they would feel/applied on guitar. (There is no guitar arrangement of such tunes)
To research the heritage of old evergreen classic music on guitar

About Me

With 29+ years of experience, music for Bollywood movie, working with various record labels (T-Series, Sa Re Ga Ma HMV, GM Records, etc) and artists (Ustad Sultan Khan, Grammy Winner VM Bhatt, etc). I am also honored to be one of the world’s leading ragas on guitar players. Now doing a world record heritage guitar journey. You can read more about me here.

For Instance tunes like Eena Meena Deeka, Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya, today, neither anybody wants to create nor are they aware of it. Under IGR, I am fully modernizing, arranging & beautifying these tunes, and presenting them to the world. The objective is to give a stage to such Indian melodies at a forever and global podium. And such dedicated and committed work also carries expenditures.
